Gaza: the ceasefire and Israel's intentions
Israel's actions - and words - clearly show what it's doing: forcible removal of the Palestinians from Gaza
What is taking place in Gaza is so horrendous that I cannot avoid commenting on it. Here’s a video and the text is below.

Let's get clear about what's going on in #Gaza:
- The ceasefire came to an end because Israel unilaterally changed the terms of the agreement with Hamas
- The agreed ceasefire plan was for all hostages to be released and Israeli troops to be fully withdrawn from Gaza
- Instead, Israel, with US approval, changed its demand to release of all hostages and the removal of Hamas from Gaza (and nothing about Israeli withdrawal)
- Since the end of the ceasefire over 1600 Palestinians have been killed, including more than 322 children (according to UNICEF not the 'Hamas-run health ministry')
- Israel is now stating, in full brazen clarity, that it will occupy 'large areas' of Gaza (the words of Israel Katz, the defence minister)
- Netanyahu has said that Israel seeks the 'voluntary migration' of Palestinians from Gaza under Trump's plan for Gaza
- He said that Israel is seeking to create the conditions for the fulfilment of this plan. To quote him directly: 'We will see to the general security in the Gaza Strip and will allow the realization of the Trump plan for voluntary migration. This is the plan.'
- Israel's blockade of humanitarian including medical supplies, electricity and other essentials for a tolerable life continues.
The picture is very clear:
Israel deliberately breached the ceasefire
It is now seeking the expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza (call it 'ethnic cleansing’ if you like)
In order to claim that this ‘migration’ is ‘voluntary’, it is making life intolerable for Palestinians who remain in Gaza, thereby effectively forcing them to leave
It is making life intolerable through two methods: 1. Continued indiscriminate killings of civilians and 2. Denial of food, humanitarian and electricity supplies.
